Initially named "Simple Investing", this tool was created as the final project for the legendary CS50 course. It transformed into ZenETFs, evolving both in its underlying technology (migrating from Flask to FastAPI) and its advanced user-centric design.
Once a month we fetch ETF prices from reliable sources to ensure accuracy. For a true "buy and hold" passive perspective, month-to-month changes are more than adequate to track long-term performance.
The monthly data enriches our robust database which houses merged and reconstructed index data spanning 30 years—even from before modern ETFs were established.
Using the Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) over 5, 10, 20, and 30-year periods, the application displays precise, smoothed-out performance metrics tailored for each strategy directly on the dashboard.
